I fell in love with cooking as a little girl, sitting on the counter, helping Mom cook. That shared love of cooking is what this blog is all about. I want this to be a place where we can all share and learn from each other all our favorite recipes, kitchen tips, and more. From how to fry an egg to Grandma's tried and true classics to your favorite olive oil. I hope everyone enjoys the blog, has fun with it, and will contribute your own ideas.

Mama's Crazy Chocolate Cake

If you've never had this cake. Wow. Get in the kitchen and make it RIGHT NOW because you've been missing out. This was my Great-Grandma's (Mama) recipe. It is called crazy chocolate cake because this recipe doesn't call for eggs. Seriously.. go make it. You won't be disappointed.

Mama's Crazy Chocolate Cake
From: Mama (Made famous by my Momma- Judy)

3 cups flour

2 cups sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. baking powder
6T. cocoa
2 cups water
2/3 cups oil
2 T. Vinegar
2 tsp. vanilla extract

Put all ingredients in a 9x12 pan and stir with fork. Bake @ 350 for 35 minutes.

Icing:

2 T. flour
2 ½ cups sugar
6 T. cocoa
1 1/3 sticker butter
2/3 cup milk
2 tsp. Vanilla

Mix all in pan and bring to a boil. Turn burner down and boil 3 more minutes. Take off burner and beat until cool. Spread over cake. (Mom says she boils it 2 or 3 minutes longer, but be careful, to make it more like fudge icing)
