I fell in love with cooking as a little girl, sitting on the counter, helping Mom cook. That shared love of cooking is what this blog is all about. I want this to be a place where we can all share and learn from each other all our favorite recipes, kitchen tips, and more. From how to fry an egg to Grandma's tried and true classics to your favorite olive oil. I hope everyone enjoys the blog, has fun with it, and will contribute your own ideas.

Banana Split Cake

Another easy and delicious recipe from my Aunt Merletta. Yumm. That is all.

Banana Split Cake
From: Merletta

Large can crushed pineapple, well drained
Large Cool Whip
Maraschino Cherries

Crust:

2 cups plain flour
2 sticks butter
2 cups chopped walnuts

Filling:

1 box powdered sugar
2 eggs
1 stick butter

Mix crust ingredients with a fork and spread (pat firm) in a 13x9 pan. Bake @350 for 20 minutes; cool completely. Mix filling ingredients and beat good, spread over crust, then over the filling sprinkle with pineapple. Then spread a layer of Cool Whip, sprinkle with Walnuts and Maraschino cherries. Refrigerate overnight.

  1. Mom made this for our party yesterday (7/2/11) and we put a big spoon in the dish instead of cutting it.. a lot of people scooped the top out and didn't get any crust! So if you only got the top you missed the best part! hahaha
