I fell in love with cooking as a little girl, sitting on the counter, helping Mom cook. That shared love of cooking is what this blog is all about. I want this to be a place where we can all share and learn from each other all our favorite recipes, kitchen tips, and more. From how to fry an egg to Grandma's tried and true classics to your favorite olive oil. I hope everyone enjoys the blog, has fun with it, and will contribute your own ideas.

Cracker Barrel Hash Brown Casserole?

This is another one of those recipes that is supposed to taste just like the "real thing". I haven't tried this one yet.. but it sounds good!
Cracker Barrel Hash Brown Casserole
From: Madelyn

1 - 2 lb. pkg. frozen hash browns
16 oz. sour cream
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 stick butter
1/2 cup chopped onion (I use Birdseye frozen chopped onion)
2 cups grated cheddar cheese

Place frozen potatoes in a greased 9 x 13 pan.  Season with salt and pepper.  Melt
butter in the microwave in a bowl and add chopped onion, sour cream and cream of
chicken soup and melted butter.  Mix these items together (if using shredded hash browns, stir gently otherwise it will turn to mush).  Pour soup mixture over potatoes
and sprinkle with cheddar cheese.  Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or til all is
completely warm and cheese begins to melt.  Sprinkle extra cheese on top 5 minutes
before taking out of the oven.
