I fell in love with cooking as a little girl, sitting on the counter, helping Mom cook. That shared love of cooking is what this blog is all about. I want this to be a place where we can all share and learn from each other all our favorite recipes, kitchen tips, and more. From how to fry an egg to Grandma's tried and true classics to your favorite olive oil. I hope everyone enjoys the blog, has fun with it, and will contribute your own ideas.

Marlboro Man Sandwiches

Ok so this recipe I got from one of my favorite cooks- The Pioneer Woman. I have made almost all of her recipes. All of them are good, easy, and I am always on her blog finding new things. Anyway, I got this recipe and asked my husband, Jeff, to make it one night and it suddenly became HIS recipe that he loves to make. It is ridiculously good. The way Jeff makes it- it is also good and messy. This is not a sandwich you can pick up and eat, but one that you must use a knife and fork to eat. But you will love it, I promise. Yummmm.

Marlboro Man Sandwiches
From: Jeff (and the GREAT Pioneer Woman!)

2 to 3 pounds cube steak (tenderized round steak that’s been extra-tenderized)

1 large onion OR 2 small/medium onions
4 Deli rolls
Butter
Lawry’s Seasoned Salt
Worcestershire Sauce
Tabasco
-Slice onions and cook in 1/4 stick butter until soft and light brown. Remove and set aside.
-Slice cube steak against the grain. Season with Lawry’s.
-Heat 2 TBSP butter over high heat (in same skillet) until melted and beginning to brown.
-Add meat in single layer. Cook one side until brown, then flip and cook until brown, about a minute on both sides.
-Add 1/2 (at least) Worcestershire sauce, 5 to 6 shakes Tabasco, and 2 TBSP butter. Add cooked onions. Stir to combine.
-Butter halved French rolls and brown on skillet.
-To assemble, lay bottom half of French roll on plate. Place meat mixture, followed by a spoonfull of juice from the pan. Top with other half of roll. OR you can do open face with a little extra juice.
