Lamberts Throwed Rolls?

This recipe is supposedly for Lambert's Throwed Rolls.. or at least close. I haven't tried this yet...
Lambert's Throwed Rolls

 In a bowl mix together  1 pkg of dry yeast, 1/4 cup warm water and 1 tsp sugar  and  let set til foamy..Set aside... In a large bowl mix together 1 egg (room temp.),  1/4 cup Sugar, 1/4 cup melted butter ,1 tsp salt,1 tsp vanilla and 1 cup of warm milk.Mix well. Add the yeast mixture and gradually work in 3 1/2 cups of Better for Bread Flour..mixing  well.Turn dough out on a floured surface to rest 10 mins. Clean bowl and grease with oil or butter. Knead the dough & gently work in the other 1/2 cup of flour (as needed) about 5 minutes or until dough is smooth & silky. Place back in bowl , cover, and let rise to double in size . When doubled, punch dough down and cut off small Pieces (with sissors) about the size of a small orange. Dust your hands with flour and shape rolls. Place side by side in a greased 9x13 pan  (should make 12 rolls) press rolls down in the pan,cover, and let rise again til doubled in size...about 30-35mins.Bake at 350 degrees  20-25 mins or til golden brown
