I fell in love with cooking as a little girl, sitting on the counter, helping Mom cook. That shared love of cooking is what this blog is all about. I want this to be a place where we can all share and learn from each other all our favorite recipes, kitchen tips, and more. From how to fry an egg to Grandma's tried and true classics to your favorite olive oil. I hope everyone enjoys the blog, has fun with it, and will contribute your own ideas.

Sweet Tea

There is nothing better than a tall cold glass of iced tea. This is one of those things that people don't really have a RECIPE for, and every one makes it their own way. But I also know that when you find yourself newly married or off at College and suddenly Momma isn't around to make the sweet tea... you may not know how. So for those of us who need to know the basics.. this is how I make sweet tea!

Sweet Tea

From: Jamie R.
  1. Boil Water
  2. Add 7 small tea bags ( I use LIPTON)
  3. Take off heat & let stand for a few hours (the longer the better)
  4. Pour tea into 2 gallon pitcher
  5. Add 2 cups of sugar
  6. Add water
  7. Stir
Serve over ice in a tall glass!

Now my Mom, Judy, makes it much sweeter and a little stronger. She uses 10 tea bags and no less than 3 cups of sugar. But I like mine the way Jamie taught me how to make it!
