I fell in love with cooking as a little girl, sitting on the counter, helping Mom cook. That shared love of cooking is what this blog is all about. I want this to be a place where we can all share and learn from each other all our favorite recipes, kitchen tips, and more. From how to fry an egg to Grandma's tried and true classics to your favorite olive oil. I hope everyone enjoys the blog, has fun with it, and will contribute your own ideas.

Filled Strawberries

This is something I saw...somewhere.. where I can't remember. I just made these for the first time and it turned out really good. This is something that would be fast and easy if company showed up unexpectedly!

Filled Strawberries
From: Christi
Strawberries
1 block cream cheese
1-2 cups of sugar
Chocolate for drizzling (optional)
Cool Whip (optional)

1- Cut the tops off strawberries.
2- Use a spoon to scoop out some of the middle of the strawberry.
3- Mix cream cheese and sugar well. (If you like it sweeter- use 2 cups of sugar..)

4- spoon mixture into zip-lock bag, pushing it into one corner. Cut the tip off that corner with scissors, and use it the way you would a pastry bag to fill the inside of the strawberries.

5- Once they are all filled, place back in fridge to chill a little before serving.

You can also fill the strawberries the same way with plain cool whip, drizzle them with chocolate, or even dip them in chocolate before you serve them... sprinkle them with finely chopped nuts...

The variations are endless really.

Also: I used my food processor to mix the cream cheese and sugar so that it was mixed really well and the cream cheese was smooth and easier to pipe into the strawberries that way.
